The Allergy/Asthma Information Association
The Allergy/Asthma Information Association is a non-profit association of allergic and asthmatic individuals, medical professionals and concerned corporate citizens dedicated to helping Canadians understand and cope with allergic and asthmatic disease.
Patient information is provided to its 6,000 members across Canada In the form of:
A quarterly magazine keeps members informed of new research discoveries, new treatments, new products and the successes of advocacy activities. Members have access to more than 40 different "Infoletters" dealing with various aspects of Asthma or Allergy disease, as well as:
Last year alone, the Allergy/Asthma Information Association handled more than 30,000 requests for information and distributed more than 6,000 lnfoletters.
The Allergy/Asthma Information Association has played a major advocacy role and been instrumental in raising public awareness of allergy and asthma issues, including changes in the regulations regarding labeling of foods, medicines and cosmetics, While the Association does not offer diagnoses or cures, it does offer information to help patients cope with their condition and manage their disease, saving both physician and hospital time and cost.
