Important information for patients traveling with Epipen by air, following the Sept 11, 2001 events

Patient must have either a letter signed by a doctor or a prescription for Epipen

IF THE PATIENT DOES NOT HAVE EITHER, HE/SHE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE THE EPIPEN ON BOARD AT BAGGAGE CHECK.. According to information obtained from chartered carriers, a prescription for Epipen will suffice, and once on board, the Epipen will be kept by the pilot throughout the flight
